Police officers on a bike tour

Each year our members participate in the Police Unity Tour which is an event that was created to honor fallen Law Enforcement Officers and to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial in Washington D.C.

To support this effort, our officers fundraise for the event and then embark on a 300+ mile bike ride from New Jersey to Washington D.C.

Members of Summit PBA Local #55 are always willing to help those in need. Last year, we participated in the Stuff-A-Truck community food drive event to benefit the victims of Hurricane Laura.

Law Enforcement Torch Run

Annually, members of Summit PBA Local #55 participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run to help raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics New Jersey.

During this event, Summit officers receive the “Flame of Hope” from the Millburn Police, and then after running through town they hand it off to the New Providence officers at the Summit border. The “Flame of Hope” travels on 26 different routes, for over 750 miles, with the help of over 3,000 officers from all around New Jersey.
