Scholarship Fund, Inc.
To give children of active and retired Summit Police Officers
seeking to further their education as well as any Summit High
School graduating senior seeking a degree in law enforcement or
criminal justice the opportunity to obtain financial assistance
for higher education in order to pursue their chosen career or
profession.
The Thomas I. Glasser Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to
give children of Summit Police officers seeking to further their
education as well as any Summit High School graduating senior
seeking a degree in law enforcement or criminal justice the
opportunity to obtain financial assistance for higher education
in order to pursue their chosen career or profession. In 2001
Thomas I. Glasser, a Summit resident, came to Summit PBA Local
#55 and said he wanted to do something for Summit Police
officers and their families. He became a founding member in the
establishment of the scholarship fund and was a driving force in
the creation of this scholarship fund. One week before the
scholarship fund was to hold its first meeting; Tom was lost in
the World Trade Center disaster on September 11th, 2001.
